Thanksgiving in Phoenix, Arizona

the week after vegas, we found ourselves bouncing around a bunch between tucson and phoenix, az. so scot's parents were kind enough to open the home to us for thanksgiving. wednesday night, scot spent some quality time with the fam at their house, and we were going to come over the next day.

the morning of the thanksgiving, us girls- meagan, beth, ashley, and i, set our alarms for early. hopped out of bed with just enough time to raid the crappy continental breakfast in the best western front lobby...we figured if we couldn't have quality, we'd have quantity. :) then we raced back upstairs and had breakfast in bed and watched the entired macy's thankgiving day parade! it was cold and rainy in nyc, and we chuckled as we looked outside at the 75 degree sunny skys, and palm trees. :)

a few hours later, most of us piled into the van and headed over the the williams's homested of yummy deliciousness, and good company. steph was outside waving, and smiling, and it was really wonderful to feel so welcomed somewhere that was so far from home. we were given beers, and told to be anywhere else, but in the kitchen. :) we met scot's mom, dad, sister, her husband, and the new baby caitlyn we've all heard so much about. she is truly the happiest baby i've ever met.

her parents were kind enough to share her with meagan, ashley, and i. we passed her around, and i got to smell her!! totally smelled like baby!!! :) :)

steph gave us a tour of the house, scot's parents were warm and welcoming, and joked around at scot's expense, and i felt really happy to be a part of it all. the spread at dinner was amazing, and when scot's mom started joking around at ZACH'S expense, i really felt all warm and fuzzy inside.

after dinner, scot, steph, meagan, ashley, and i went for a walk around the neighborhood.

we made our way to the park nearby, and watched a game of flag football, played on the swings, and watched the other neighbors start to put up their christmas lights.

we watched tv for a while, and finally, after letting our food settle, we headed back to the best western to prepare for the 1400 mile drive that loomed over our heads.

this was the perfect way to spend thanksgiving away from home. a big huge thank you to all the williams' for a lovely holiday. :)
